Have you ever been asked this question? “Who would you invite to a dinner party, dead or alive?”
I would have dinner parties every weekend – both Friday and Saturday nights – because my guest list is sooooooooo long!
Who would be my first guests, you ask? I would have some of my favorite female Saturday Night Live veterans – Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, and Molly Shannon.
I have watched SNL for the last 25 years, and there have been some funny women on that late night show.
- Tina Fey – Sarah Palin and Weekend Update.
- Amy Poehler – Amber “rockin’ on one leg”, Kaitlin “Rick. Rick. Rick. Rick.”, Weekend Update, and Hilary Clinton.
- Kristen Wiig – Dooneese, the smalled handed woman on The Lawrence Welk Show, the Target “Approved” check-out lady, and Penelope, the one-upper.
- Maya Rudolph – her portrayals of Beyonce, Oprah, and Donatella Versace.
- Molly Shannon – Mary Katherine Gallagher “Super Star”, Sally O’Malley “I’m 50!”, and NPR radio host Terry Rialto on Delicious Dish.
For these saucy women, I would make a Tex-Mex casserole or a make-your-own taco bar, complete with chips with salsa and queso, Mexican rice, black and refried beans, all the tasty toppings (sour cream, shredded cheese, guacamole, black olives, etc.), and to top the night off… margaritas!
These ladies made me laugh during their time on SNL, and I’m 110% sure that we would be laughing all night too!
