About

Welcome to “Green Acres Meets Paris”!

My name is Vanessa and I live in East Tennessee. I love to write about fashion, beauty, style, celebrities, entertainment, and travel. “Green Acres Meets Paris” is a women’s fashion and lifestyle blog, since it encompasses so many topics.

Green Acres Meets Paris

When I started this blog, my goal was to “find my voice”. One thing is for certain… I love writing! Slowly but surely, I feel like I’ve started finding my voice. I love the fact that there are some people out there who like my blog enough to follow it! For that, I say THANK YOU!

A few years ago, I became a BlogHer Social Media Influencer and Mogul Influencer/Global Ambassador. I am always eager to attend blogger meet-ups and conferences, and love to learn more about this industry and the business of blogging.

Most days you can find me laughing, walking, and writing. By day, I work as a Registered Medical Assistant for a surgical group in East Tennessee.

I am a lot of things — a city girl living the in country, a writer, a loyal friend, loving daughter and sister, fur-mommy, and wife extraordinaire. The things that I’m most passionate about in life are writing, fashion, beauty, travel, gardening, family, and friends.

On a more personal note, I am married to a wonderful man named Mike.

We have several beautiful four-legged “children”: a Pitbull-Mountain Cur mix named Doc; an Australia shepherd/Texas blue heeler mix named Kate; three cats – KitKat {mama}, and her babies, Sonny and Cher {Cher moved inside last year}; a special needs goat named Trooper; and a miniature horse named Duke. You can check out their Instagram page {@the_4legged_wood-clan} to see photos.

Our oldest, CT, was a German Shepherd who passed away a few years ago from cancer. She was 12 years old. Dakota, our Chi-Pom mix, passed away on Veteran’s Day (in 2015), and was he was 16. Daisy Mae, our Beagle-Poodle mix, crossed over the rainbow bridge on March 20, 2018, and both me and my husband have been lost ever since. All three of these beloved babies will alway hold a special place in our hearts!

I have a B.A. in English, with a minor in Religion and Business, I think… (at least I think had enough college credits to have a Business minor). I’ve worked as a video editor at a Chattanooga TV station during my senior year in college. Then I worked as a news reporter for a newspaper, followed by a 6-year stint in PR for a small private Christian university.

Now I work as a Registered Medical Assistant, working with two general surgeons — one specializes in treating patients with breast cancer, and the other is the on-call surgeon who manages all the emergent cases that come through the ER or at the hospital. Needless to say, I love my day job very much.

Anyway, enough about me 🙂 THANK YOU (again) for taking time to visit my blog! Hopefully you will find it entertaining, enlightening, and encouraging! (There’s a little alliteration for all the English majors out there!)

Again, welcome to my “Green Acres!”
