Links I Love: January 2018

Links I Love

I haven’t posted much in the past couple of months, but that’s okay {I think}. One thing is for sure though… I’ve been catching up on some reading; or more specifically, I’ve been reading some great posts from some of the other bloggers I follow. So in this month’s “Links I Love”, I’m going to share with you some of the posts that I’ve bookmarked to read again later. January 2018 Reading List – The Stripe, by Grace Atwood I’m always interested to see what other people are reading, especially bloggers I follow. I’ve even gone to my local library to […]

Steal Her Style: Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston has set several trends, most notably with her famous “Rachel” haircut. But if you’re like me, then you look to Jennifer for her uber cool California girl style. Even when she’s in New York City, she maintains an air of cool girl style that women everywhere try to replicate. Everyone fell in love with Jennifer in Friends, where she played the lovable Rachel Green. I loved Rachel’s style in the early years because it was a nice mix of cool and quirky, especially most of the short skirts, baggy pants, and body hugging sweaters. I also loved Rachel’s […]

Makeup Tips for Girls Who Wear Glasses

Jennifer Aniston in glasses

I have worn glasses for several years, and I only started wearing makeup within the past seven years or so. I was a bit of a tomboy when I was younger, and only played with makeup from time to time. But the dilemma I face now is how to wear eye makeup that doesn’t make me look like I’m hiding two black eyes behind my glasses. When my nieces were younger, I would watch them as they applied their eye makeup, even though they are naturally beautiful and don’t need makeup. They carefully lined their eyes with kohl black eyeliner […]

Wanderlust Wednesday: Bali

Since “Eat Pray Love” came out in 2010, starring Julia Roberts as author Elizabeth “Liz” Gilbert, I have wanderlusted over the Indonesian island of Bali. The beauty of this island, as Julia Roberts rode around on her bicycle, drew me in from the very beginning. In March of this year, Bali was named the world’s top travel destination by TripAdvisor in it’s Traveler’s choice award. “Bali is a living postcard, an Indonesian paradise that feels like a fantasy. Soak up the sun on a stretch of fine white sand, or commune with the tropical creatures as you dive along coral […]

Woman of Style: Nina Garcia

I have never seen a bad photo of Nina Garcia, who, if you don’t already know, is the Creative Director of Marie Claire Magazine and a Project Runway judge. This Columbian fashion journalist has an enviable style, and she shares her style tips in each of her four books. And in honor of New York Fashion Week, I decided to make her this month’s “Woman of Style.” Garcia began her career in the fashion industry in the early 1980s. She worked in the public relations department for Perry Ellis and its then-designer, Marc Jacobs. On September 2, 2008, she began her new position […]
