An Indie Film Lover's Paradise

Every January, independent filmmakers, industry professionals, actresses, actors, and the press travel to Park City, Utah, for the Sundance Film Festival. And every year, indie filmmakers, and up-and-coming actors and actresses, dream of getting their film featured and picked up at the Sundance Film Festival.

As always, this year’s festival will feature documentaries as well as comedies and dramas. Check out the festival program HERE.

This festival loves the indie filmmakers and the out-of-the-box documentaries. There are dozens and dozens of film festivals, but Sundance is where actors and actresses really shine. These films get big-screen exposure and more often then not, their budgets are extremely small compared to a studio movie. These actors and actresses, not to mention the directors and screenwriters, are just hoping their film is seen and liked by the audience.

Refinery 29 recently wrote a post about the indie film directors to watch at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. You can read that HERE.

The Playlist staff compiled a list of 25 movies that defined the Sundance Film Festival, and includes sex, lies, and videotape, Napoleon Dynamite, Little Miss Sunshine, Precious, Beasts of the Southern Wild, and The Blair Witch Project, just to name a few. You can check out the entire list at The Playlist’s blog post HERE.

A couple of years ago, I wrote a blog post about Robert Redford, the founder of the Sundance Film Festival. You can check it out HERE.

This year’s Sundance Film Festival will start on January 22nd and run through February 1st. I’m looking forward to seeing who will be this year’s indie darlings and which films make it big!

Have a great day!
