It's Just a Game

The Legend of Bagger Vance is one of my all-time favorite movies, and I watched it twice this weekend. Based on the book by Steven Pressfield, the movie tells the story of Rannulph Junah, a disillusioned war veteran who reluctantly agrees to play a game of golf with Walter Hagen and Bobby Jones. Every January, independent filmmakers, industry professionals, actresses, actors, and the press travel to Park City, Utah, for the Sundance Film Festival. And every year, indie filmmakers, and up-and-coming actors and actresses, dream of getting their film featured and picked up at the Sundance Film Festival. If I Could Be Friends With Anyone…

I was always a bit of a nerd in school. I was never part of the “cool” crowd and I didn’t get invited to parties. I think the first party I got invited to that I actually attended was on prom night my Senior year in high school. The Sundance Kid: Robert Redford

Actor. Director. Producer. Environmentalist. Philanthropist. Robert Redford, a.k.a. The Sundance Kid, seems to have done it all at one time or another. Born on August 18, 1936 in Santa Monica, Calif., Redford was the son of an oil company accountant. In high school, he excelled at sports. In 1955, a year after he finished high school, his mother passed away. After her death, he ran into some difficulties, including being fired from several jobs and having a few run-ins with the law. He attended the University of Colorado on a baseball scholarship, where he was the team’s pitcher. After just […]
