Rockin’ at the Redneck Rumble

Last weekend, I spent some time with my husband at the Redneck Rumble. There were antique autos, vintage bicycles and motorcycles, hot rods and rat rods.

It is a 1-1/2 day event in Lebanon, Tenn., and it showcases the cool and unique cars, trucks and motorcycles of different car clubs from around the  south. People from a dozen or so states travel to this car show to not only see the rides, but to see the pin-up girls (sorry, I didn’t take photos of any pin-up girls). The guys even dress up and some look very similar to “The Fonz”!

Here are a few photos I took of come unique rides…

This chop-topped truck was lowered an painted a drab Army green.
A pair of vintage bicycles sit behind an antique tow truck.
This super low rat rod has a chopped top and the color scheme is done in the Harley Davidson colors, complete with the HD logo on the side of the doors.
I’m loving this mini-VW van!
Another vintage bicycle sits in front of a cool antique car. I’m like the wide white-wall tires against the flat black color of this car.
Poor doggie was tired after a hard night of partying.
This car looks like a rust bucket, and it’s advertising the Hillbilly Surf Shop (complete with a couple of surfboards on top).
These cool rides belong to members of a car club.
This line of motorcycles (pictured above) contains custom-made as well as vintage/antique motorcycles.

I’d love to hear from you if you’ve ever been to a car show like this one (pictured above). If you haven’t been to a car show – whether it be a “rat rod” show like the Redneck Rumble or an antique automobile show – I encourage you and your family and/or friends go to one. They are a wonderful culture shock and a timeless flashback to a wonderful time period.

With all the hybrid, compact, luxury, and electric vehicles made today, antique car shows are a wonderful reminder of how far we’ve come as a society.

Have a great day!
