Dress Form Outfit #28

This week’s dress form outfit is very special because it features a vintage wedding dress worn by my husband’s grandmother, or “Maw” as she is affectionately known by all of us.

R.C. and Audrey were married on May 4, 1946. Audrey had a double wedding with her sister, Jean. The four of them even honeymooned in Florida together.

RC & Audrey were married on May 4, 1946. They were one of two couples married on that day. She had a double wedding with her sister, Jean.

The dress has aged quite a bit, but it is still quite beautiful. The satin bodice features delicate cutouts around the neckline. The long sleeves feature three buttons along the wrists and a long line of buttons dress up the back of the bodice. The dress is lined and has been covered by a delicate lace which flows into the long train.

The veil features a beaded tiara style headband and a long train.

There was no tag inside the dress, but it was stored in a “House of Fashion” box. Maw wasn’t sure if the dress came from the House of Fashion.

Here are some additional photos of the dress…

Even Maw enjoyed seeing her wedding dress on display…

Have a great day!
