12 Hollywood Couples I’d Love to Host for Dinner

It’s Saturday and my fantasy dinner party is coming together. I’ve got a simple, yet elegant, tablescape. The wine chilling is in the fridge. And I’m putting the final touches on dinner and dessert.

So which Hollywood couples are on my dinner party guest list? They are couples who have been married a long time, with the exception of one adorable couple whom I still consider newlyweds. I have been huge fans of these actors and actresses for years. I remember watching some of these actors in big budget movies and independent films, and on TV shows.

So let’s get to the guest list…

Ron and Cheryl Howard – They are high school sweethearts! They’ve been married over 40 years! My maiden name is Howard and my brother and father are red-heads, like Ron. I like to pretend that we are related, like long, lost cousins.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson – After 28 years of marriage and Tom Hanks still thinks his wife is “out of his league”.

Denzel and Pauletta Washington – He and his lovely wife have been married for 33 years! They also have four children!

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick – Despite rumors of their shaky relationship, this couple has decided to try “conscious coupling” in order to make their 20+ year marriage work.

Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann – For almost 18 years, Judd was mispronouncing Leslie’s name. But thankfully, that didn’t split them up!

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard – Here are my “newlyweds” because they just got married three years ago. They have been labeled the “cutest couple”, having starred in several movies and TV commercials together.

Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon  – There is no “6 degrees of Kevin Bacon” here. This couple has been married for 28 years and are still going strong.

Barbra Streisand and James Brolin – I never would have pictured these two people together, but they work! They just celebrated their 18th anniversary, and have been together 20 years.

Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell – Even though they are not (technically) married, their commitment to each other is inspiring. This couple have been together over 30 years and reportedly got engaged on New Years Eve 2015.

Kevin Kline and Phoebe Cates – Their 15 year age difference didn’t keep this couple from falling in love and marrying in 1989. They obviously found some common ground and fell in love.

Ed Harris and Amy Madigan – Just look at the way Ed looks at Amy in the photo below. This couple has collaborated on several projects.

Successful marriages are a rare thing in the entertainment industry, but these couples are the exception.

  1. Before I even scrolled down your post, I immediately thought Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson, and there they were on your list too. I’d also add Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness. I reckon they’d be a real laugh.

    1. I totally forgot about Hugh Jackman and his lovely wife, Deborra-Lee Furness! They will definitely go on my next dinner party guest list!
