With winter approaching, why would someone dream of taking a trip to somewhere further north, like Iceland?  Simply this… it’s a beautiful place!

There are thermal baths, the Northern Lights, and such quaint villages and majestic scenery. There is whale watching, volcanos, and waterfalls. It looks like a simply stunning place to visit.

Iceland has a population of over 329,000, and is the most sparsely populated country in Europe.  It is volcanically and geologically active. It is warmed by the Gulf Stream, but its high latitude and marine influce still keeps the summers kind of chilly.

Four Square put together a nifty travel guide for Iceland — where to go, when to go, and what to eat. You may also want to learn some basic Icelandic phrases. Remember, kindness goes a long way, especially if you’re a tourist.

The natural beauty of this northern island is stunning. It would be a once-in-a-lifetime journey and is definitely near the top of my bucket list.

Have you ever been to Iceland? Where did you go and what did you do? I’d love to hear your stories about your travels to Iceland!

Have a great day!
