100+ Care Package Ideas for the Holidays

The holidays are just around the corner and who doesn’t love to get a care package from a friend, a loved one, or a Secret Santa? I love getting a large envelope or small package in the mail because I wasn’t expecting a package and I get excited to see what’s in the envelope or box. I rip into it with enthusiasm and find wonderful little gifts!

The great thing about care packages is that they can be sent to anyone! Family members send care packages to their children who are away at college or studying abroad. Churches gather small items and put together care items to send to a chuch members loved one who has been deployed overseas. Friends can go in together to send a care package to a sick co-worker.

Everyone loves to get a care package at random times throughout the year, but it means more to the recipient around the holidays, especially when they are far away from home and cannot spend the holidays with their family, friends, and loved ones.

In perusing Pinterest, I came across some care package ideas that linked me to a military wife named Jo, and her blog Jo, My Gosh! She first started blogging about the care packages that she was sending her military husband, but then she expanded her blog to include recipes and such.

I found her care package ideas wonderful and thought I’d share them. There are a lot of military families with loved ones overseas. Again, these care packages can also be adjusted to send to just about anyone anywhere. She even lists some common mistakes to avoid when sending care packages.

If you think you, your friends, or your family would like to go in together to send a care package to a military member currently serving overseas, then check out Move America Forward. They have a way of connecting you with someone currently serving overseas so you can send them a care package. This could even be a school project or a church project.

A couple of years ago, I participated in a similar program and sent a couple of care packages and letters to a young woman who shared some of her goodies with  some of her fellow troop members. You can read about my experience HERE.

Again, care packages can be sent to anyone. So if you like to receive care packages, then just imagine how much someone else would love to get a care package. Pay it forward and put a smile on someone’s face!

Have a great day!
