5 Steps to Find Happiness

Everyone is in search of happines.

Today I watched a video of Steve Harvey interviewing TD Jakes, who was sharing the five steps that will allow anyone to find happiness.  Even though I consider myself a happy person, I, like everyone else in the world, am in search of happiness.

1. Own your own happiness.

2. Challenge your own story.

3. Enjoy the journey, not the destination.

4. Make relationships count.

5. Balance work with play.

You can read about each step in more detail at Empowering Everyday Women, and there is also a link to the video interview.

Do you own your own happiness? Do you make your relationships count? Do you find it difficult to balance work with play? And what about your own story? Do you challenge yourself to change your destination in life?

Steve Harvey said that he told his children that if he and his wife died, that he and his wife would spend 85% of their money on themselves, leaving 5-10% to his children. He pointed out that that it’s not the stuff that you leave behind for your children and family, it’s the stuff that you leave in them that matters the most. Of course, Steve Harvey said it better than I paraphrased it, but you can watch the video for yourself.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on TD Jakes’ “5 steps to find happiness”. Do you agree with him, or do you have any other suggestions on how anyone can find happiness?

Have a great day!
