I know I have already written a “wanderlust” post for this month, but with Labor Day literally just around the corner, I decided to write a special “wanderlust” post about LAST MINUTE LABOR DAY TRAVEL IDEAS AND DEALS!!! My parents are traveling up to the West Virginia to meet my dad’s brother’s wife’s family (does that make sense?), and I’m sure my brother and sister-in-law will most likely attend the Texas A&M football game that Saturday and then (just maybe) take a road trip to the beaches of Galveston, Texas. However, my husband and I currently don’t have plans, except we’ll […]
Wanderlust Wednesday: Take Me to Disney
I’m 43 years old (and I’m not afraid to admit it) and I’ve NEVER been to either Disneyland or Disney World. One is in Florida and the other is in California. But this girl right here (imagine me excitedly waving my hands in the air) has never been to either Disney location. I want to have my picture taken with Mickey and Minnie. I want to dance with Goofy. I want to hug Donald and Daisy Duck. I want to have a Princess makeover like Penny, Bernadette, and Amy did in The Big Bang Theory. I want to ride the rides, […]
Wanderlust Wednesday: Greece
When I saw Mamma Mia!, starring Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried, I knew I had to add Greece to my bucket list. The whitewashed houses and buildings, some with blue roofs (mostly churches), are a beautiful contrast to the sea seen in most photos. The blue and white combination, along with the preexisting colors of the Greek flag and the preexisting colors in other islands too, have become the strongest “trademark” of the Greek Cycladic islands, Santorini included. These cycladic houses are painted white to reflect the harsh summer sun. In the last few years, other colors have been introduced, including […]
Links I Love
The thing I love about Pinterest is the plethora of links to great DIY ideas, to funny or thought-provoking articles, to fashion and food, and to other people’s blogs. It is great to sit down for a few hours (or half the day) and click on link after link after link, and discover new things, new ideas, and new people. In the spirit of sharing, here are the link I love this month. If you’re like me, you love bath bombs, like the ones sold by LUSH. But did you know you can make them yourself? Check out Something Turquoise […]
Wanderlust Wednesday: Hong Kong
Hong Kong is a stunning city. The bustling, colorful city streets… the history and the architecture… the lively food scene… the city as a whole would be an exciting addition to everyone’s bucket list. I’d like to visit Ocean Park (pictured below), the Arch Moon Tower, the “Big Buddha” at Po Lin Monastery on Lantau Island (pictured below), The Wisdom Path, and the Pavilion of Absolute Perfection at Nan Lian Garden. The cemeteries (pictured above, bottom left corner) are unique and would be a must-see for me. The Hong Kong skyline is beautiful, but I’ve read that it is even more stunning […]
