Last Minute Labor Day Travel Ideas and Deals

I know I have already written a “wanderlust” post for this month, but with Labor Day literally just around the corner, I decided to write a special “wanderlust” post about LAST MINUTE LABOR DAY TRAVEL IDEAS AND DEALS!!!

My parents are traveling up to the West Virginia to meet my dad’s brother’s wife’s family (does that make sense?), and I’m sure my brother and sister-in-law will most likely attend the Texas A&M football game that Saturday and then (just maybe) take a road trip to the beaches of Galveston, Texas. However, my husband and I currently don’t have plans, except we’ll most likely go for breakfast to our local Waffle House on Saturday morning (it’s our weekly tradition, it’s our “thang” that we’ve been doing for a several months now).

So what about these last minute Labor Day travel ideas and deals? Here’s the deal. I was checking my email and read my PopSugar Living newsletter which featured some “Labor Day Travel Deals”. The article listed both hotel and flight travel deals, but if you’re like me, you like to bundle your hotel and flight because you can get better deals. So here are the “vacation bundle” deals they featured:

Vacation Bundles

  • Book a flight and hotel of $1,500 or more to Mexico or the Caribbean and Southwest will give you up to $200 off on your reservation when using the promotion code INCLUSIVE at the time of booking. Book your trip by Sept. 5.
  • Save $200 per four-night booking to Bahamas Paradise Island Hotels or save up to 40 percent on rooms at Atlantis Resorts through Delta. Snag the offer by Sept. 6.
  • Book a flight and hotel vacation package of three nights or more to Las Vegas through Southwest and save $60 when using the promotion code SAVE60LAS at the time of booking. Book your trip by Sept. 5.
  • If you use Orbitz, you can save up to 50 percent plus an additional $125 with promo code FIESTA125 when you book your Mexico flight and hotel together. Book by Sept. 15.

And if you’re in Nashville for Labor Day weekend (September 2-5), check out Southern Living #NASHVILLENOW. According to The Daily South, this weekend is “essentially a front stage pass to the city’s buzzing local artists, fashion designers, chefs, musicians, and songwriters, and of course, our very own Southern Living editors. Exclusive events will be taking place across the city, allowing you to create your own itinerary for the weekend. Or, you can take advantage of our hotel and ticket packages, where we’ve selected events based on your getaway of choice, like a girls’ weekend or a foodie-only package.”

Whatever your plans are for the upcoming Labor Day weekend, I hope you have fun and stay safe.

Yours Truly,
Vanessa
