Green Acres in the Garden

My Grandpa Lashlee could grow any vegetable any where, in any soil. When he and my Grandma Lashlee lived with my parents in Gulfport, Miss., my grandpa grew the best tasting veggies in the sandy soil. Then when they moved up here to East Tennessee, my grandpa grew the best tasting veggies in the red clay hillside behind the house they shared with my mom and dad. Cucumbers, jalapeno peppers, radishes, okra, watermelons, tomatoes, grapes, blackberries, mustard greens… oh my goodness, I could go on for days listing everything in his garden! You name it, he probably grew it! He had […]

Links I Love

Since I revamped my blog earlier this month, I have been looking at starting a new weekly or monthly series (or two). I have found myself drawn to other bloggers posts about “links they love”, so today, starts the first in a series. My plan for this series – “Links I Love” – is that it will become a monthly series. Celebrity Dinner Party: SNL Edition

Have you ever been asked this question? “Who would you invite to a dinner party, dead or alive?” I would have dinner parties every weekend – both Friday and Saturday nights – because my guest list is sooooooooo long! Who would be my first guests, you ask? I would have some of my favorite female Saturday Night Live veterans – Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, and Molly Shannon. I have watched SNL for the last 25 years, and there have been some funny women on that late night show. Tina Fey – Sarah Palin and Weekend Update. Amy […]

Friday Favorites: Instagram Bloggers

Instagram is my favorite form of social media, simply because pictures are literally worth a thousand words, or in this case, a thousand #hashtags. Some days I can’t wait to open my Instagram feed just to see what people post. Instagram is a treasure trove of beauty, indulgence, food, fashion, love, and life. I follow people, models, magazines, businesses, as well as friends and fmily. I follow fitness, beauty, fashion, and celebrities. I watch as people travel, party, change their hairstyle or haircolor, announce their pregnancy and then the birth, announce new business ventures, celebrate birthdays, anniversaries,  and deaths, and […]
