Dress Form Outfit: Olive Green & Black

I am no Alessandra Ambrosio, but ever since I featured her in my “Steal Her Style” series wearing olive green and black outfit, I have been trying to find ways to wear this color combo for Spring. Since I wear scrubs all week long, I really look forward to wearing “real clothes” while I’m out and about in town, or even for a date night with my hubs.

In shopping my own closet for this month’s Dress Form Outfit, I realized that I have several olive green pieces that I could style together with either a pair of my black jeans or a black skirt. {Side note: Some may call it olive green while others may call it Army green. Either way, I really like this color combo.}

My take on Alessandra’s outfit focuses more on the olive/Army green color than the black, and definitely costs less than her outfit.

The jacket is WhoWhatWear from Target, which I got it on sale a couple of years ago for less than $15. The jacket is no longer available, but I also like this style at Old Navy. I added my signature Eiffel Tower brooch {to represent the name and brand of my blog, “Green Acres Meets Paris”}, which I purchased at Hobby Lobby for less than $5.

The sleeveless button-down top is Rock & Republic, and I got it on sale for less than $8 at Kohls. {It is no longer available at Kohls, but I actually found this same top on eBay for more than I paid for my top.} I really like the detail on the collar, and the shirt is so silky soft. I also like that the top is sleeveless, so I could take the jacket off during warmer weather and still be comfortably stylish. I actually tied the front of the shirt, but I will most likely wear it untied.

The black coated jeggings are from Wal-Mart, and were less than $15. {This style is no longer available, but you can purchase black coated jeggings from a lot of stores.  I just liked how these looked which is why I bought them in the first place.} The shoes {open-toed heels} are several years old, and I don’t remember how much they were.

Then I elevated the outfit with my Louis Vuitton Monogram Speedy Bandouliere 30, which was a gift from the hubs and was purchased at the Louis Vuitton store in Nashville, Tenn. I don’t usually use a crossbody strap with my Speedy, and this particular strap actually goes with my LV Estrala. The strap that goes with my Speedy is a little longer, which would make the Speedy hang a little lower than how it looks in the photo below.

EASY STYLE SWAPS: I can easily swap out the jeggings for a fitted or flared black skirt for a date night with the hubs. I can also swap out the heels for a pair of flats, black sneakers, or tall boots. I can also swap out the LV Speedy for a black clutch for date nights.

Do you like to wear this color combo? I know it’s not really “Spring” colors, but the majority of my closet is full of dark colors with the rare appearance of a bright color. I guess I need to expand my wardrobe a bit this Spring so I can put more colorful dress form outfit pieces up on the blog!

Are you as ready for Spring as I am?

Yours Truly,
Vanessa
