Must-See TED Talks to Inspire Productivity

There are TED Talks on every topic imaginable by like Arianna Huffington and Tony Robbins to people I have never heard of, but some of the most inspiring, must-see TED Talks for me are the ones about productivity.

For example, Nigel Marsh says that “work-life balance is too important to be left in the hands of your employer.” And Arianna Huffington’s recommendation is to get more sleep if you want to succeed.

TED is a nonpartisan nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks. TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 110 languages. Meanwhile, independently run TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world.

Being productive is good for your brand, as is being excellent is every thing you do. Oprah said it best in the quote below.

And even better than doing the right thing is making a difference in other people’s lives. As Michelle Obama, the former First Lady, put it, “Success isn’t about how much money you make, it’s about the difference you make in people’s lives.”

Finally, I’m going to leave you with one final nugget of TED Talk advice from Dr. Ivan Joseph. He is the Athletic Director and head coach of the soccer team at Ryerson University. He says that when he is recruiting players, he doesn’t look for the one who can run the fastest or who has the best kick. He looks for someone who has self-confidence. In his TED Talk, he explains why it’s a necessary skill, no matter what stage of life you find yourself in.

Being self-confident lends itself to being productive. So step up your confidence game, do the right thing, start to make a difference in other people’s lives, and be more productive.

What are some ways you stay productive? What other TED Talks do you like to watch to inspire productivity?

Yours Truly,
Vanessa
