This is My Year: Unboxing the FabFitFun Winter Box

A couple of days ago, I received my FabFitFun Winter 2016 box in the mail. I grabbed it up and ran to my dressing room. I turned the box over and over, just admiring the exterior design of this season’s box. Next, I opened the box because I was eager to see what goodies it held for me! And I wasn’t disappointed, because “this is my year!”

{*Disclosure: I am a FabFitFun Affiliate, which means if you order from my blog posts, I receive a small commission. #fffaffiliate #fffpartner}

I actually received an email from FabFitFun, giving me a sneak peak of what I could expect to see in the Winter box, but I didn’t read it because I wanted to be surprised. My FabFitFun experience began last fall and with every box, I discover a new beauty product, enjoy a new piece of jewelry, or get inspired by the ideas included in each booklet.
In the Fall 2016 box, I fell in love with my ModCloth Loch and Key scarf. In the Summer 2016 box, I was excited about the Trina Turk’s beach tote! In the Spring 2016 box, I discovered new beauty products from ISH {loving the contouring kit} and Marrakesh {the argon and hemp oil smells divine} and I wear my Jook and Nona tag necklace {which says INSPIRE} every day.

So what new discoveries were in the Winter box?

D.L. & Co. Candle in Bergamot Woods in silver {$45}
This chic soy-blend candle smells wonderful! This candle is almost too beautiful to burn.
TIP: The intricately designed candle holder makes a gorgeous centerpiece. Fill it with a cute succulent once your candle burns out.

Gorjana Kiernan Double Pendant Necklace in silver {$75}
On Monday’s dress form outfit blog post, I featured some Gorjana jewelry. I am excited to add this silver double pendant necklace to my collection. The “tip” in the booklet says that “this bauble is made to amp up any LBD during the holiday season.”

Marie Mae Company Thank You card set {$24}
Anyone who knows me, knows that I enjoy writing letters and sending postcards. These lovely notecards are perfect!

Moleskine 2017 Weekly Planner {$20.95}
I am super excited about using this weekly planner for 2017. I can’t wait to start writing it in and bullet journaling through the upcoming year!

Butter London Iconoclast Mega Volume Lacquer Mascara {$20}
I don’t usually wear mascara, but I may have to give this a try… either that or give it to one of my nieces for Christmas. This mascara voluminizes, separates, defines and lifts lashes to epic heights.
TIP: Wiggle the wand at the base of the lashes to create extra volume. Apply the wand vertically for a more natural look.

O.R.G. Skincare Mineral Peel Face {$44}
This all-natural enzyme exfoliant has brightening agents that extracts dermal debris and dead skin in seconds.
TIP: Eliminate “cakey” makeup by prepping your skin for flawless makeup application.

Anderson Lilley Beach Butter Body Cream in Winter in Manhattan Beach {$24}
I don’t know what the other scent {Sicilian Tangerine} smells like, but Winter in Manhattan Beach smells awesome! I can’t want to apply this rich, hydrating body cream to every dry part of my body!
TIP: Apply to the soles of your feet and wear socks to bed to lock in moisture overnight.

Total retail value of box: $252.95 … My cost: $49.99.

I was really excited to discover that this box was designed by Taylor Davis, a Texas A&M graduate who now works with the FabFitFun team. Want to see more of her work? Then check out her website or her Instagram. I grew up in West Texas, and my brother is currently a senior at Texas A&M. I don’t know Taylor personally, but that doesn’t stop me from beaming with pride for this TAMU alum! {Gig ’em, Aggies!}

This box, like previous boxes, is a proud supporter of #WomenSupportingWomen. I love that FabFitFun is committed to working with brands that lead or founded by talented, successful women! I also love that they work with brands that give back to the community.

For the Winter box, FabFitFun partnered with the Starlight Children’s Foundation. Their mission is “simply brining happiness to sick children.” Starlight devotes 85 cents of every dollar to programs that brighten the lives of seriously ill children.

According to the FabFitFun booklet, “Starlight is launching an awesome new program called Starlight Brave Gowns that transforms ugly, uncomfortable, and revealing hospital robes into fun, comfy and brightly colored gowns that empower and bring joy to sick kids. Check our their website for more information on how you can support this program and more.

The booklet included in the box has such great information and this season’s booklet is no different. It has a list of 100 New Year’s Resolutions {you can actually keep}, how to DIY wrapping paper, and three signature holiday drinks {Eggsquisite Eggnog, SeRUMptious Apple Cider, and Peppy Peppermint Hot Cocoa}.

Peppy Peppermint Hot Cocoa
Ingredients:
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp sugar
3 cups whole milk
4 ounces peppermint bark vodka
Whipped cream
Cinnamon powder

Directions:
1. In a medium saucepan, stir cocoa, milk, and sugar over medium heat until mixture is hot.
2. Add vodka to mixture and stir until well-blended.
3. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon powder.

Doesn’t that just sound delicious?

It’s not too late to get your Winter box. In fact, I think you deserve a little treat, so here’s $10 off your first FabFitFun box!

Yours Truly,
Vanessa
