Painting with a Twist

I’m not an artist. I cannot paint or draw to save my life, but with some direction and encouragement, I can create a masterpiece. Last month, my friend, Marci, invited me to Painting with a Twist on Gay Street in downtown Knoxville, where we painted a whimsical Christmas scene. And I have to say, my painting turned out better than I expected!

Painting with a Twist has rules, as you can see in the photo below. I did relax and my painting did turn out fine. I didn’t put my paint brush in my drink and I didn’t drink the paint water. I did take a break when the young lady leading the group suggested and my painting did thank me for it. I did step back from my painting to get a better perspective. I didn’t whine much, only when necessary. And I had LOTS OF FUN!!! {I know it looks like I’ve painted rows of cotton candy on my canvas, but this was just the in the beginning stages.}

And here’s the finished painting… with a twist!

The painting is hanging up in my dining room right now, but I’ll hang it up in the living room once I put of my dress form Christmas tree.

As I said earlier, I was invited to this PWAT party by my friend, Marci. Here she is with some of her co-workers. Marcy is the second from the left.

This is the second time I created a painting at Painting with a Twist, and I have to say that this painting turned out so much better than the first painting. If you live in Knoxville or the surrounding cities, just go to their website and find the nearest location. Then check out their event calendar that shows all the painting that they are doing each day and you can reserve your spot.

Painting with a twist is a fun way to not only bond with your friends or co-workers, but you will create a personalized piece of artwork and have fun doing it! So grab your friends, a bottle of vino, and some paint brushes, and create something fabulous — with a “twist”.

Yours Truly,
Vanessa
