I want HER hair! Is that too much to ask?

I have lamented several times on my blog the love-hate relationship I have with my naturally curly hair. Today I love it, but tomorrow may be a different story. I look at other women with their seemingly perfectly coifed natural curls and think to myself, “I want HER hair! Is that too much to ask?”

So here are some of my curly hair “I want HER hair” inspirations!

I know how to style my hair, but getting the right cut is an important aspect, if not the most important, of having fabulous, envy-inducing naturally curly hair. Am I right, curly girls?

Do you have naturally curly hair? How do you get it cut- wet or dry? What are your favorite curly hair products? And how do you style your curls? I’d love some tips so leave your comment below!

  1. I have naturally curly hair. I did the big chop like 5 to 6 years ago. What I will really suggest is that people with curly hair should buy products that will hydrate their hair. And watch out for products that has to much salt in them. Always do coconut oil deep treatment and don’t follow people that says that washing your hair with cold water will not frizz your hair. That’s not true in its totality. If you wash your hair with warm water it will not frizz your hair. Now if you dry your hair with a towel it will. Leave your hair air dry or dry it with a tshirt not a towel. Love your blog! I will love to see you continue grow. Following you! Kudos!💜

    1. I did the big chop about 22 years ago and quickly found out that my face (and neck) are not short-hair friendly. I do love coconut oil treatments as well as a good hair mask. I totally agree with you that curly hair needs moisturizing and hydrating products. I don’t wash my hair every day, but I do condition it every day. And thanks for the other tips!

  2. I used to hate my curly hair, now I absolutely love it because I realize I have the option of straightening it if I please. I get mine cut when it’s dry and make sure the person who’s cutting your hair knows it’s curly if they can’t tell. Also a couple times a week I put a Frizz serum in it and then I love the product Got2B Kinkier Curling Spray Gel.

  3. Awesome post! I have naturally wavy hair that curls at the ends as it gets longer – I have it cut wet and air dry, and I try to have it cut in styles that don’t really style it much other than that (helps with saving time in the mornings!) ☺️

I love curly hair though, and a friend of mine has very similar hair to many of the ones above – I’m pretty sure she uses a conditioning product to amplify her curls and give them more definition if that helps 💕

    1. Thanks, Genevieve! I don’t get my hair cut that often, because of some bad experiences in the past. I would love to change up my style a little, but I get scared to try something new and end up with the same thing every time. One of these days though… Thanks again!
