Supermodel. Super Mom. Footballer’s Wife. Victoria’s Secret Model. Actress. Goodwill Ambassador. And she retired at the top of her game. In one word… Gisele.

This Brazilian model pioneered the “horse walk”, and has been labeled by other “supermodels” to be the “only remaining true supermodel.” She has acted in only two films that I know of – Taxi, starring Queen Latifa and Jimmy Fallon, and The Devil Wears Prada, starring Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep. She has been listed as the highest paid model since 2004.

In 1998, Gisele was called “the Body” by the great late fashion designer Alexander McQueen. She has modeled for Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, Versace, Missoni, Chloe, and Ralph Lauren. She has graced the covers of Allure, W, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, Rolling Stone, and Vogue. She has walked for Marc Jacobs, Christian Dior, Michael Kors, and Valentino, just to name a few. In my opinion, she is the original Brazilian bombshell.

Gisele has gorgeous hair that thousands of women would love to have – both style and color. She also has an amazing body, which she keeps in tip-top shape. She practices “transcendental meditation” and has the long slender limbs that make her yoga poses seem effortless.

More than Just a Pretty Face

Not only is she a supermodel, but she is a philanthropist. She has raised money for cancer research and treatment, designing a limited necklace crafted by the jewels of Gumuchian Fils, which were then sold to raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

She has donated millions to the victims of Hurricane Katrina, the Tohoku earthquake and tsumani, the Pacific Tsunami Fund, and Save the Children. She also donates a percentage of her earnings to help with several other projects. Also, part of her website – Gisele Bundchen – is dedicated to environmental issues.

Happily Ever After…

Gisele has had two high-profile relationships. The first being with Leonardo DiCaprio from 2000 to 2005. Then in 2006, she began dating New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, after being set up on a blind date by a mutual friend.

They married on Feb. 26, 2009, in Santa Monica, Calif., only to remarry in a larger ceremony a few months later in Costa Rica. Tom Brady’s son, John, was present for this ceremony. (John is the child of Brady and actress Bridget Moynahan). Gisele and Tom have two children: son, Benjamin Rein, and daughter Vivian Lake.

Here’s why I like Gisele

She’s a beautiful, strong woman who has achieved a lot in her life. She obviously goes after what she wants and finds a way to get it. Her work ethic is strong, as is her philosophy on life and fitness. She is a hands-on mother, and a loving, supportive wife to Tom Brady. She would be on my list of people I would invite to dinner.

You can follow her on Instagram (GiseleOfficial) and Twitter (@giseleofficial).

Yours Truly,
Vanessa
