Wanderlust Wednesday: Knoxville, Tennessee

Home of the Tennessee Volunteers, David Keith, Kenny Chesney, Quentin Tarantino, Jack Hanna, The Oak Ridge Boys, and Christina Hendricks. It’s more than just a college town. It is a must-visit for anyone who wants to stay in a great city with a hometown feel. With over 100 things to see and do and dozens of awesome places to eat in the Old City, Knoxville is quickly becoming a popular destinations for singles, couples, and families to visit. And Dollywood is less than an hour away!

On Saturday, I walked around downtown as part of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Walk. I saw a lot of great eateries and realized that there was a whole other world in downtown Knoxville that I never really knew existed. So I put some of these destinations on my list to visit within the next year.

1. Tupelo Honey Cafe

   Located in historic downtown Knoxville, this restaurant serves up good Southern food!
   

2. The Stock & Barrel

   This farm-to-table restaurant has a great selection of food.
   

3. Balter Beerworks

   Like beer? Then this is the place for you!
   

4. Yesah

   Born in the heart of the Tennessee mountains.
   

5. Bluetique

   Where fashion meets fun!
   

6. Nothing Too Fancy

   Get your Tennessee merchandise at this hometown store.
   

7. Urban Outfitters

   Downtown Knoxville has some great shopping, including stores like Urban Outfitters.
   

8. Billy Lush Board Shop

   Try your hand at stand up paddle boarding.
   

9. NV Nightclub

   Dance the night away at this downtown hot spot!
   

10. Tennessee Theatre

    You can catch Broadway shows 42nd Street and Chicago.
    

11. Bijou Theatre

    Check out the Events Schedule and catch musical acts like Blues Traveler and comedian Mike Birbiglia.
    

12. Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame

    Pay homage to basketball coaching legend, the late Pat Summitt.
