My mom is kind of special to me. I’m not saying that just to butter her up (because she does read my blog), but I mean it from the deepest corners of my heart. Not only do I get to honor and celebrate her on Mother’s Day, but her birthday is so close to Mother’s Day that she gets twice the gifts that most other mothers out there receive. On a couple of occasions, her birthday was actually on Mother’s Day (talk about special)!
Since Mother’s Day is this coming weekend (May 8th), you better shake a leg and buy or make a gift for that special woman in your life.
So besides the usual gift ideas for mothers (i.e., flowers, candies or chocolates), you could either make her something special like breakfast in bed, homemade cards, or a DIY manicure/pedicure kit. Or you could buy her something as special as she is, such as buy her favorite movie and watch it with her, take her out to brunch, lunch or dinner, or send her to the spa for a day of beauty and pampering.

Remember, sometimes the best gift you can give anyone, especially your mother, is the gift of time. My mom and I have a Friday set aside later on this month, so I’ll treat her to lunch and a movie (our usual). And of course, I’ll have a couple of little treats up my sleeve to make her Mother’s Day/Birthday even more special!
