Wanderlust Wednesday: Wellness & Fitness Retreats

When wanderlust hits me, I tend to look at far away places like Paris, the Maldives, Cabo, Bali, Australia, London, Italy… Heck, I would just love to be on a beach somewhere soaking up the sunshine, digging my toes in the sand, and not having a care in the world.

But recently, I have been looking at fitness and wellness retreats like New Horizon Escapes, and Canyon Ranch Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona. There are more retreats detailed HERE. Fitness retreats like these offer people the opportunity to get healthier, not to mention fitter, stronger, and hopefully happier.

New Horizon Escapes takes you to beautiful destinations, like Bali, Thailand, and Hawaii, where you’ll stay at a 5-Star luxury Villa, eat at amazing restaurants, relax on beautiful beaches, and enjoy daily activities like snorkeling, hiking, rock climbing, and kickboxing.

These retreats are often all-inclusive and offer spa services, detoxification programs, hiking, rock climbing, kickboxing, yoga, Pilates, meditation, surfing, and one-on-one services. They are great for couples who like to get fit and healthy together. They are also great for a girls weekend, especially if you and your friends know up front what you’re signing up for with one of these fitness retreats.

Fitness magazines, like SELF and SHAPE, highlight fitness and wellness retreats. Can you imagine the relaxation you would experience from a view like the one below?

Retreats like the ones featured in Travel + Leisure are a bit more pricey, but what fitness and wellness retreat isn’t a little expensive, am I right? Check out these desert spas featured in Travel + Leisure.

Costa Rica boasts of several fitness retreats, including Pura Vida Adventures. Estes Park, Colorado, offers a women’s running retreat, like Active at Altitude. Retreats like Earth Goddess Rising Retreats and Parrot Cay by COMO (in the beautiful Turks and Caicos) focuses on yoga. Other women-only focused retreats are hosted by Fit & Fly Girl and Escape to Shape.

If you’re going to take some time for yourself and indulge in a wellness and fitness retreat, then why not save up your money and go someplace exotic like Bali. Have yourself a little “Eat Pray Love” moment!

As wanderlust envelopes you, treat yourself to something new that will benefit your body, mind, and spirit!

Yours Truly,

Vanessa
