Celebrating Fathers Everywhere

Those of us lucky enough to have a father in our lives are blessed, and with Father’s Day on Sunday, June 21st, it’s time to celebrate fathers everywhere!

My father doesn’s ask for much, but I love to bake him a special cake and show him how much I love and appreciate him by making him something from the heart! For instance, check out this cute, and easy-to-make Father’s Day cake (We Like to Learn as We Go) and this DIY Scrabble picture frame (Folksy).

And if you’re need ideas for quick and easy gifts, or DIY gift ideas, Lil Luna and DarbySmart have some great ideas.

So this Father’s Day, I encourage you to spend some time with your dad, step-dad, grandfathers, or the father-figure in your life and let them know how much you appreciate and love them. There are a lot of people who have lost their fathers, and I encourage you to get together with family and reminisce about the good times with dad or grandpa.

As for me, I hope to spend some time with my own dad, Jerry. I am so thankful for him, for his love and support, for his sacrifice and his selflessness, for the lessons he taught me, and for the laughter he brought to my life. I love you dad!

I’d also like to say a special Happy Father’s Day to my brother, Tim Howard. He is a Junior at Texas A&M and the father of three wonderful young ladies – Kyra, Kalista, and Kami.

Have a great day… and Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers, dads, step-dads, dads-to-be, adoptive fathers, grandfathers, and father-figures!
