I’m not one for trends. I like the trends, but they don’t always like me or my body shape. So Gianni Versace was right when he said “don’t make fashion own you.” I dress for comfort and for the way I live. I wear scrubs every day, so when it’s time to go out, I like to dress up and wear high heels.
But with summer right upon us, I like to scan the magazines for summer fashion trends and then go shopping to see which fashion trends look good on me.
I’m a creature of habit. I like skirts and dresses over shorts or pants; I like heels over flats; and I like scarves over large statement necklaces. So when it comes to my favorite summer trends, I choose to express myself with style and comfort.
Some of this season’s trends are off-the-shoulder dresses, gem embellishments, netted fabrics, voluminous silhouettes, classic white shirts, pretty pastels, and geometric prints. Here is what I’m loving for this summer.

And if you’re like me, I may use a gift card or two to purchase some great summer clothes or accessories.
