Most stores already have their Christmas decorations up, and advertisers are already pushing the latest and greatest Christmas gifts. My question is: What happened to celebrating November?

November is the start of college basketball season. We celebrate Veteran’s Day this month. And in an election year, Election Day is the first Tuesday of the month.

Interesting facts (according to Yahoo.com) about this month include:
1. President Kennedy was assassinated on Nov. 23, 1963.
2. The end of World War I was Nov. 11, 1918.
3. President Lincoln declared Thanksgiving a national holiday in November 1863.
4. President Lincoln made the Gettysburg address in November of 1863.

November is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, Adoption Awareness Month, and Native-American Heritage Month.

Some famous people born in November include: actors/actresses – Leonardo Dicaprio, Sally Field, Goldie Hawn, Ethan Hawke, Scarlet Johansson, and Whoopi Goldberg; authors – Louisa May Alcott and Mark Twain; fashion designer Calvin Klein; and musicians/singers – Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, and Tina Turner.

So make an effort this November to do something to celebrate this wonderful month. Take a que from #EncourageBeauty and Photo-a-Day Challenge.

This November, do some of the following: celebrate your style icon; thank a mentor; Instagram love; compliment a stranger; sweeten family ties; or do any of the following listed below.
