Links I Love: September 2019 / www.vanessahwood.com

September was filled with some great “Links I Love” material, so this may be a very looonnng post {sorry, not sorry}. For my fashion-loving friends, I included some links highlighting the trends and outfit inspirations from all four {yes, I said four!} fashion weeks that occurred during September. So let’s get started… Zara French Girl Outfits for Fall {Fashion Gone Rogue} From the quilted mini crossbag with the Eiffel Tower bag charm and the belted velvet dress to the flowing animal print dress and the black dress with the embroidered, the Zara look book had me wanting {almost} everything. Woman of Style: Nina Garcia

I have never seen a bad photo of Nina Garcia, who, if you don’t already know, is the Editor-in-Chief of ELLE and a Project Runway judge. This Columbian fashion journalist has an enviable style, and she shares her style tips in each of her four books. And in honor of New York Fashion Week, I decided to make her this month’s “Woman of Style.” Nina began her career in the fashion industry in the early 1980s. She worked in the public relations department for Perry Ellis and its then-designer, Marc Jacobs. After leaving Marc Jacobs, she moved to Mirabella. From […]

Links I Love

I’m posting the “Links I Love” a day later than usual, but that’s because my husband and I had a car show to attend on Saturday morning. Unfortunately, the brakes locked up and we ended up not going, but that’s a story for another time. Then we watched the Tennessee Volunteers beat the Florida Gators! Anyway, I’ve been busy reading a lot of blog posts and articles these past couple of weeks. I’ve been perusing my Bloglovin’ feed and I’m loving what I’ve been reading. So I thought I share with you some of the links I found interesting, from New […]

A Mini-Roundup from NYFW

I love fashion, and I love New York City. So it would just make sense that I would love New York Fashion Week, even though I’ve never been to NYFW or to a fashion show. NYFW is specifically for industry insiders, media (newspapers, magazines, and television), models and celebrities, and select VIBs (very important bloggers). There are some events open to the public including the TRESemme Runway Studio Salon, Carol Galvin Foundation Women’s Cancer Fashion Runway Gala, Fashion Week Online VIP Lounge, NYFW Fashion for Charity Rising Stars Runway Show, as well as several fashion shows by select up-and-coming designers. Wishing for the Opportunity of a Lifetime

Every month I flip through a sundry of fashion magazines, and every year I dream of attending Fashion Week in New York City, London, Paris, or Milan. I dream of wearing designer clothes, and rubbing shoulders, elbows, and knees with celebrities, magazine editors, and designers. But most of all, I dream of seeing all of the beautiful, and sometimes avant garde, fashion that the many talented fashion designers send out onto the runways. Photo Credit: oscardelarenta.com I was flipping through my InStyle magazine the other night and came across Erdem’s literature-inspired embroidered outfits. Being an English major in college, I […]
