Live For The Little Things

Photo Credit: Pinterest I have been told many times, by many people, to live for the little things in life. There are a million little things that brush against the walls of our life that oftentimes we forget to stop and smell the roses. My husband and I take motorcycle rides and he has what he calls his “riding playlist”, filled with songs by The Allman Brothers, John Denver, Hugo, just to name a few. We like the freedom it gives us, and it gives me the opportunity to admire the beautiful scenery. My parents lived in Biloxi and Gulfport […]

I Want Her Hair…

Once again, I’m going through hair envy. When I see other naturally curly-haired beauties, I think and sometimes verbalize, “I wish my hair looked like that!” So I scoured Pinterest, and googled naturally curly hair styles and celebrities with curly hair, and here’s what I came up with — everyone’s curls are different; everyone styles their hair differently; and not everyone cannot use the same products. If I Could Be Friends With Anyone…

I was always a bit of a nerd in school. I was never part of the “cool” crowd and I didn’t get invited to parties. Let Life Break You

Recently, I have been discouraged by how hard life is sometimes. When I found this quote by Louise Erdrich about letting life break you, I began to rethink my views on life. I know life can break me, and no one can protect me from it. Solitude will also break me, even though at times I may long for some solitude. I have to love. I have to feel. I have to be willing to risk my heart. I have to let life swallow me up. I also like the image of just sitting under the apple tree and listening […]

Have a Zen Moment

I often try to have zen-like moments, encouraging myself to keep calm, reflecting on the goodness within and without, and trying to bring a little peace to my mind and to my world. So when I found this list – “10 to Zen” – I thought I would share it with you because I thought we could all use a few Zen-like moments in our day and in our lives. Photo credit: Pinterest I think it’s important to “let go.” Most people I know say, “let go and let God…” That’s a good starting point… But the Zen philosophy(if that’s […]
