Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Photo Source: allposters.com / Pinterest I hope everyone will be enjoying time with family and friends this thankful holiday! On this day, Thanksgiving Day, I pause to reflect on what I am thankful for this year. 1. My husband, who loves me unconditionally and who is not necessarily perfect, but who is perfect for me. 2. My babies – Dakota, Daisy, and Doc (and yes, they are all dogs), who bring such joy to my life. 3. My family, who supports me in everything I do. 4. My job and my co-workers, who are all freakin’ fabulous! […]

Movie Remakes I Want to See

I was watching Pitch Perfect the other night and Skylar Astin’s character, Jesse, was bragging to Anna Kendrick’s character, Beca, about movies with great soundtracks and he mentioned The Breakfast Club. The song, “Don’t You Forget About Me” by Simple Minds, is awesome, and I love the part in that movie when Judd Nelson triumphantly thrusts his fist up into the air as the credits began to roll. This same song was “mashed up” with another song in Pitch Perfect and was performed by Beca (Anna Kendrick) and the Barden Bellas. I won’t reveal any more details in case you […]

Welcome, November!

Photo Source: Pinterest Most stores already have their Christmas decorations up, and advertisers are already pushing the latest and greatest Christmas gifts. President Kennedy was assassinated on Nov. 23, 1963. 2. The end of World War I was Nov. 11, 1918. 3. President Lincoln declared Thanksgiving a national holiday in November 1863. 4. President […]

Here are a few of my favorite things about Fall! (*Note: All photos are borrowed from Pinterest, and the original source is cited when available.) Things to do this Fall… Photo […]

How To Deal…

My family watched as my grandfather descended into dementia and Alzheimer’s. He passed away in April 2009, just before Easter. He was 89. Now his wife, my grandmother, is slowly spiraling down the same path as he did. She is 89 now, and is suffering from dementia and Alzheimer’s, experiencing the same hallucinations and paranoia as he did. Now, my husband’s grandmother, whom we have lived with for over 10 years, is in the early stages of dementia and Alzheimer’s. If you want to watch a real tear-jerker, rent The Notebook, which tells the love story between a husband and […]
