Dress Form Outfit: Date Night in Gingham

I love styling my dress form, changing the outfits and trying new looks, especially for date nights with my husband. Last month I posted a dress form outfit featuring a pair of black shorts styled for daytime. At the end of that post, I said that I would show you how I styled them for a date night.

I have been looking for something gingham for quite some time, and being a thrifty shopper, I headed to a thrift store in Chattanooga and scored this gingham wrap top, from Beach Lunch Lounge Collection, which features voluminous bell sleeves with ruffled cuffs.

The shorts are several years old and hit just above my knee. They are what some people call Bermuda shorts, while others may describe them as walking or dress shorts. They are “vintage” {because I refuse to say they are old, but I think I’ve had them for almost 15 years or more}, and I can’t remember where I got them or how much I paid for them. {Similar style here.}

I purchased this Patricia Nash Tibetan lamb crossbody bag is a bit whimsical. I purchased it last summer at a sales event at the Patricia Nash Design Studio in Knoxville, Tenn.

This necklace came in my FabFitFun box and is the 8 Other Reasons Nine Lives Choker in Rose Gold {$58}. I think the choker style necklace, or a few delicate silver necklaces layered together, will accentuate the décolletage nicely.

Depending on where we go for date night, I might wear a pair of black wedge sandals, gingham espadrilles, or a pair of studded sandals. You really can’t go wrong with whatever stylish footwear you decide on, but for me comfort is key.

Is there a particular outfit you’d like to see on my dress form? If so, just let me know by leaving a comment below.

Yours Truly,
Vanessa
