Man of Style: Jason Momoa

Jason Momoa has a style all his own. It’s a little steampunk mixed with a dash of biker-goth and splash of cool surfer guy. I don’t think that there is any other man who could pull off this style with such panache.

“I don’t think a lot of people are calling me to play doctors and lawyers, which is fine with me,” Jason said during an interview with Esquire. “I can put a suit on, but I don’t really like to.”

There have been a few times that he “dressed up”, but he still puts his own spin on the outfit.

Jason made many female fans swoon last year after reportedly marrying his first celebrity crush, Lisa Bonet, who played Denise Huxtable on The Cosby Show. She is now known as Lilakoi Moon, and is still just as beautiful today as she was back in her Cosby days.

This pair are perfectly matched, as they not only seem to be in sync with each other but in their style as well. He is equal parts handsome, talented, and romantic. “I think a man needs to be a man. To hold a woman the way she wants to be held,” he told the New York Post. “Just do whatever your woman wants, and you’ll be fine.”

With his long hair and chiseled body, this Hawaiian-born-Iowa-raised hunk could teach a lot of men {young and old} about personal style. A couple of years ago, he and his family were featured in a short movie for Carhartt, aptly titled, “Canvas of my Life.” In this short, he said that he ‘was raised in small town America, surrounded by hard work, corn fields and pigs.”

To maintain his manly physique, Momoa enjoys rock and ice climbing, snowboarding, hiking, skateboarding, roller hockey and mountain biking. In his downtime, he devours books, devotes himself to Buddhist studies and composing haikus. He also plays guitar and considers spending time with his kids to be one of his favorite pastimes.

Whether he’s playing the shirtless superhero Aquaman, or an outlaw trapper like his character in The Frontier, you can’t deny that this 6-foot-5, roughly 230-pound burly actor is surely a “Man of Style.” Even though I think his long hair brings out his rugged good looks, you’ve got to admit that he even looks good with short hair, am I right?

**Just a note: I’m re-doing my editorial calendar and moving my monthly “Man of Style” series to Mondays, to coincide with “Man Crush Monday”. This series will still only be published once a month, but it will be put out on a Monday instead of on a Wednesday.
