What’s in My Bag, ft. Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis

If you’ve ever read US Weekly, then you’ve seen their monthly feature called “What’s in My Bag”. I find it so fascinating to see what other people carry around with them. I actually shared the contents of my bag in a blog post back in 2012 when I carried my beloved Louis Vuitton Estrela. So in putting together today’s Blogtober “Day 7” post, I thought I’d give an update and share what’s in my bag.

I currently carry the Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis. It has three compartments and a zippered pocket on back. You can sling it over your shoulder, carry it by the top handle, or wear it across your body {which is how I usually wear it}.

I no longer have my Estrela, and giving it up was a bit heartbreaking to be honest. The leather was starting to tear along the seam where the handles were attached to the bag. So my husband and I drove to the Green Hills Mall in Nashville, and went into the Louis Vuitton store to see if they could somehow repair it. The lovely sales rep, Chanel, examined it and said that they would not be able to repair my Estrela, but she did offer me the full retail price of my Estrela for store credit. Yowza!

Apparently they had redesigned the Estrela, and I didn’t particularly like the new style. I had been eye-balling the Speedy bag, but then, as I was scrolling through my Instagram feed, I saw Julie of Sincerely Jules {who is one of my favorite bloggers and lifestyle influencers} carrying the the Pochette Metis. This simple cross-body bag was calling my name!

I guess now is as good as time as any to share “what’s in my bag”, right?

I have a tendency to over-stuff my bags, but these are my current “essentials”.

I carry a black Coach wallet, which my husband gave me as a Christmas gift several years ago. In the wallet I have my DL, bank and credit cards, my library card, my blood donor card, several receipts, a few Green Acres Meets Paris business cards, as well as some cash. I also carry my Moleskine planner, which I got in a FabFitFun box last year. I carry at least three pens because sometimes I need to write down an important date or a blog idea in my planner. I usually carry both my work keys and car keys, but when I get home, I usually hang my car keys up on the key hook.

I have earbuds which I rarely use, but come in handy when I’m traveling. I carry a small tape measure because there were times when either my husband or myself needed to measure something but we didn’t have  tape measure. I carry Big Red gum {for me} as well as cinnamon candies {for my husband}. I also have a few Chick-fil-A “Be Our Guest” cards, which I have yet to use. I have eyeglass cleaner wipes and a little pill bottle that contains a few Excedrin migraine pills, a couple of Benadryl, and a few reflux pills. I also have Gas-X, which has come in handy a few times. Because I don’t drink Diet Coke anymore, I drink a lot of tea or water, so I use Propel Zero {in lemon or lemonade} to flavor my water.

As far as “beauty products” go, I don’t carry a small makeup bag with me to do quick touch-ups or whatever. I’m really a simple girl when it comes to my beauty routine. With that said, I do carry Burt’s Bees lemon butter cuticle cream {which my friend Cindy A. gave me}, Josie Maran’s whipped argan oil hand cream {also gifted to me from Cindy A.}, Buxom lipgloss {in Lavender Cosmo, which Cindy A. introduced me to one day at work}, Bath & Body Works anti-bacterial gel, Imari perfume stick {from Avon, gifted to me by my mom}, and Rhoto lubricating eye drops.

This bag has been to many places, including: Los Angeles {to the BlogHer 16 Conference}, where it was carried on a walking tour of downtown Los Angeles {thanks to MixBook}, and where it was briefly in the presence of the beautiful Aisha Tyler. It also went with me visit my brother in Texas, where we attended the Texas A&M vs Western Carolina game.

There you have it… a brief history of my Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis and a breakdown of everything in my bag. Some of the contents in my bag have varied over the months, but you can usually find the items currently in my Pochette Metis in any bag I carry.

So what’s in your bag?

Yours Truly,
Vanessa

P.S. Come back tomorrow for Blogtober “Day 8” because I’ll be sharing some of my favorite Fall Pumpkin Spice recipes! Happy Fall y’all!
