Looking for the Perfect Drop Waist Dress

A month or so ago, I saw a photo of a popular fashion blogger wearing the most adorable sleeveless drop waist dresses. Ever since then, I have been shopping around for just the right drop waist dress for the summer.

When I was in junior high and high school, I remember my mom fashioning me some drop waist dresses out of t-shirts and then sewing material to the bottom of the shirts. I had several styles and colors and wore them on the regular. I loved them, and I don’t really know why I stopped wearing them, other than the fact that they may have gone out of style. But like all fashion trends, they are back “in style.”

If you’re like me and you’re looking for inspiration for the perfect drop waist dress, then check out these dresses.

I love the striped dress with the animal print shoes!

I love that this drop waist dress has pockets and a high-low hem! It reminds me of the voluminous high-low drop waist dress that Victoria Beckham designed for her Spring/Summer 2014 collection.

This dress looks like a short-sleeve sweatshirt drop waist dress, and it looks super comfy, especially with the slip-on shoes.

I really love this bright blue dress with the animal print clutch.

I like the little pop of color along the back hem of this high-low drop waist dress.

I love the pale pink drop waist dress with the blazer. This is such a classic look.

Drop waist dresses don’t have to be straight up-and-down. They can be fun and flirty, sporty and classy, and worn day or night. They can be worn with slip-on sneakers, flats, wedges, sandals, heels, or booties. You can style a drop-waisted dress any way you like!
