My Week in Pins

“One reason I don’t drink is that I want to know when I am having a good time.” ~Lady Astor

This week in pins, I thought I’d share some yummy drink recipes that I found on Pinterest. There’s one for every day of the week! And for those non-alcohol drinkers, there are a couple of non-alcoholic beverages in this list!

2) Brazilian Lemonade (non-alcoholic beverage)

Ingredients:
4 smooth, thin-skinned limes
1 c. sugar
6 c. cold water
6 Tbsp. sweetened condensed milk

Directions:
Cut the limes into chunks. Then measure 6 cups of cold water and add 1 cup of sugar. Mix well until sugar is completely dissolved.

Add 1/2 of the sugar water (3 cups) to the blender with 1/2 of the limes. Put the lid on the blender and PULSE the mixture 5 times. Then pour the lime & sugar water mixture through a fine mesh strainer into the pitcher you will be serving from. To make sure you don’t miss a drop of this limey goodness, use a big spoon to press every last bit through the strainer and into your container.

Now add the other 1/2 of the limes to the OTHER half of the sugar water and REPEAT. Now we are ready for our “secret ingredient”!  Simply add 6 tablespoons of the sticky sweet stuff to the sugar water and lime juice and stir. Serve immediately over LOTS of ice!

3) Lime Sorbet Margaritas

Place 2 scoops of sorbet in each glass and pour 1 tablespoon of tequila over the top of each. Serve with a spoon.

Fill glass with pink cotton candy and slowly pour Lime Perrier over it.
Such a beautiful nonalcoholic beverage.

I’d like to say “I never drink”, but that would be a fib. I do have the occasional drink every few months or so, meaning I partake of alcohol about 3-4 times a year (if that). My restaurant faves are the White Peach Sangria at Applebees, the Cosmo at Weber Grill in Chicago, and the Twisted Cherry Limeade at Joe’s Crab Shack. Otherwise, I stick to either unsweet tea or Diet Coke.

If you do drink, don’t drive… There is someone out there who cares for you and your safety, so be smart about drinking and driving. Always have a designated driver!
