Finding Inspiration in “Fashion”-able Quotes

Fashionable Quotes / www.vanessahwood.com

As I reflect on my childhood, I don’t recall ever really being a fashionista, even though I have loved fashion for as long as I can remember. I was more of a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl, a real “tomboy”. Of course, like everyone else at one point in their life, my love for fashion has blossomed into a full-fledged admiration of all things fashion. So I’d like to pass along some fashionable quotes from some really fabulous fashion insiders, including Anna Wintour, Christian Louboutin, and the great late Alexander McQueen. “Just be true to yourself, and listen as […]

Sunday Inspiration: Lose Yourself to Find Yourself

Sometimes you have to lose yourself in order to find yourself. I was asked to come to the rescue of my oldest niece on Friday when she was involved in a single-car wreck on her way home from college for the weekend. On our way to meet her mother, we started talking about how she’s doing in college and what’s been going on in her life lately. And if you never step forward, you’ll always be in the same […]

A Great Moment in American History

I’ve watched many a movie about moments in American history. Black Hawk Down. Pearl Harbor. Saving Private Ryan. Band of Brothers. So tonight when I found myself channel surfing, I made the executive decision to watch The Great Raid, which was based on William Breuer’s book of the same name. I was lucky enough to have met Mr. Breuer on several occasions when I was a news reporter in Cleveland, Tenn. Mr. Breuer has written over 30 books, focusing on World War II, the CIA, and the FBI, as well as the Korean War. The Great Raid is about the raid at Cabanatuan where 500 American soilders were […]
