Paying it Forward in March

Back in January (as part of my New Year’s Resolutions) I decided that each month I will do something for myself and something for someone else. It’s kind of my own “Pay it Forward” experiment for 2012. Well, this month, I really splurged on myself. Not only did I get a mani-pedi, but I purchased a new purse. A Season of Change

Spring “Marches” in and brings “April” showers, which brings “May” flowers… or something like that! What I mean is that Spring is almost here! MOL Challenge, Day 6

So far in my “Month of Letters” Challenge, I’ve written six letters to friends and family. I decided that even though mail doesn’t run on Sundays or holidays, that’s no reason to not write an extra letter or jot a quick note down in a funny card. In each letter I’ve written so far, I’ve enclosed a small gift. In the first letter, I enclosed several pictures; in the second, a drawing; in the third, confetti; in the fourth, a quote from a magazine; and in the fifth, magazine clippings about the Twilight Saga. The Month of Letters Challenge

Call me “old fashioned”, but there’s something about snail mail that excites me! I love opening up the mailbox and finding a handwritten envelope with a card or even a letter in it! It’s definitely “old school” and most people prefer the quicker method of communication – email. Handwritten letters and cards, sent through the mail, convey a sense of intimacy. I think it provides a sort of connection that email cannot. You, the reader, can see the pen strokes in each word, in each letter. It’s personal. Letter-writing takes time and patience.
