When Life Hands You Lemons

There are times when everyone feels a little low. Times are tough, especially right now, and we, as humans, run the full range of emotions from love to hate, from happiness to sadness, from peace to anxiety, etc. I’m currently in a state of happy anxiety, mixed with a touch of procrastination. “Why?” you ask? Well, I’ll tell you. I am working on a screenplay that I hope to submit to an internationally-known screenwriter’s lab. Twice before I have submitted an entry and twice I’ve been “rejected”, so to speak; however, I am not giving up. Besides, “third time’s a […]

A Thanksgiving Prayer For My Family and Friends…

There was a time when I was more “religious” than I am today; however, that does not change the fact that I am still a Christian. In honor of Thanksgiving and in light of the recent events in my life (with the passing of my 88-year-old grandpa from colon cancer), I have decided to send up a prayer for my family and friends. Dear Lord, I come before you today with a heavy, and somewhat broken, heart. Taking a Moment to Remember My Grandpa…

My grandpa Lashlee passed away early this morning (Sunday, November 4, 2012) and my heart is breaking just a little tonight. He was 88 years old. I wrote about him once before (which can be read here) when I was rambling about death. I don’t really have much to say right now. I didn’t post “My Week in Pins”  on Saturday and I will not be posting my “Dress Form Outfit” for this week either, or any other post for that matter. Both my grandfathers have now passed away, coincidentally at the age of 88. So if you have any […]

Walking for a Good Cause: Save the Ta-Tas

On Saturday, October 27th, I joined thousands of other people who participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Knoxville, TN. The 5K course took racers and walkers through downtown Knoxville. I walked with Katy and her husband, Russ, and we had a great time! It rained just a little bit during the first mile, but it eventually stopped and it cooled the air considerably. Several of my other co-workers were participating, but I could only find Katy when the race was getting ready to start. The three of us finished in 1-hour and 22 minutes. I […]

My Week in Pins – Odd Couples

This week in “My Week in Pins”, which is a day late (sorry about that), I decided to showcase some really cute “odd animal couples”. So enjoy! [All pins are taken from Pinterest, but I do name the original source.] These donkeys remind me of the ones that roam my future retirement land in Colorado. Love their cooky smiles! These two friends understand the joys of sharing! You can just see and feel the love between these two beautiful dogs. I love seeing teamwork between these two pandas. Who says dogs and cats can’t get along! My dad has four […]
