Last weekend, I spent some time with my husband at the Redneck Rumble. There were antique autos, vintage bicycles and motorcycles, hot rods and rat rods. It is a 1-1/2 day event in Lebanon, Tenn., and it showcases the cool and unique cars, trucks and motorcycles of different car clubs from around the south. People from a dozen or so states travel to this car show to not only see the rides, but to see the pin-up girls (sorry, I didn’t take photos of any pin-up girls). Yesterday I posted a blog entitled “Roaming the Outer Banks” and I included some photos of my trip. One of those photos was of a “Mermaid’s Purse”, which was identified by someone who read my post. Roaming the Outer Banks
I love the beach – the breeze coming off the water as the waves come in, the smell of sea and sand, the hunt for sea shells. Last week, I roamed a small section of the Outer Banks (North Carolina) beach, specifically behind our hotel in Kitty Hawk. The only “tourist-y” thing my husband and I did was visit the Currituck Beach Lighthouse. The base walls of the lighthouse measure over five (5) feet thick.
