Lent: A Season of Sacrifice and Soul-Searching

Lent started today, on Ash Wednesday, and officially ends on Holy Thursday (if you’re Catholic) or on the eve of Easter Sunday. Many religions observe this season of reflection, sacrifice, pentance, and fasting. This morning of Ash Wednesday, I’ve been reflecting on what I plan to (1) give up, and (2) take up. I figure if I’m going to give up something “bad” for me that I’ll take up something “good” to replace the bad thing that’s gone. MOL Challenge, Day 6

So far in my “Month of Letters” Challenge, I’ve written six letters to friends and family. I decided that even though mail doesn’t run on Sundays or holidays, that’s no reason to not write an extra letter or jot a quick note down in a funny card. In each letter I’ve written so far, I’ve enclosed a small gift. In the first letter, I enclosed several pictures; in the second, a drawing; in the third, confetti; in the fourth, a quote from a magazine; and in the fifth, magazine clippings about the Twilight Saga.
