Wanderlust: Let's Go Glamping!

As a child, my family used to travel to Utah to visit my grandma and grandpa Lashlee, where almost every visit we would end up camping for a few days. We would pitch a tent or pull a pop-up camper out into the woods, and me and my cousins would experience nature firsthand while my grandparents would stay in their RV.

And believe it or not, those are some of the best memories I have with my grandparents, my parents, and my cousins. We would fish, hike, cookout, and pray it wouldn’t rain on us in the middle of the night.

Well, camping has come a long way since I was a kid. Now we have something called “glamping”, or “glamorous camping”, “lux camping, or “glam camping”.

According to the website GLAMPING, “glamping brings the world of luxury into nature in the most seamless way possible. Glamping merges the world of luxurious accommodations with in-destination experiences. Glamping is for everyone. Glamping is different. Glamping is about the experience. Glamping is luxurious. Glamping is beautiful.”

  1. Honestly, the term ‘glamping’ makes me cringe, haha. I definitely understand the appeal, and would, in most cases, for longer trips prefer not being in a tent, but I don’t think I could refer to it in a way that made it sound at all like camping, you know? That said, the glamping resorts look amazing. I would probably just call them resorts, though 😉

    1. I, too, think that the glamping resorts look amazing! I don’t know if I could sleep out in a tent unless it was in a luxurious resort in a beautiful surrounding. Thanks for reading and thanks for commenting!
