I’ve been struggling with ways to be creative, ways to find the energy to continue with this blog. In a marathon Pinterest session the other night, I found this pin about ways to stay creative: Photo Credit: Pinterest / Photo Source: www.paperplayne.com I don’t know how or why, but there are several of these points that sparked something, a fire maybe, under my creative arse. I need to make lists. I need to break rules. I need to try free writing. I need to stop beating myself up. I need to write my ideas down instead of just letting them […]
When You Dream, Dream Big
There’s a song by Ryan Shupe and The Rubberband entitled, “Dream Big”. “And when you dream, dream big As big as the ocean blue ‘Cause when you dream it might come true When you dream, dream big” That’s just the chorus, but the entire song is hopeful and inspiring. I’ve always been a dreamer – just ask my momma. Ever since I was 10 years old, I dreamt of being the next Barbara Walters; however, I changed my mind when I was 15 years old and I wanted to be a writer and that’s what I’ve been doing on and […]
When Life Hands You Lemons
There are times when everyone feels a little low. Times are tough, especially right now, and we, as humans, run the full range of emotions from love to hate, from happiness to sadness, from peace to anxiety, etc. I’m currently in a state of happy anxiety, mixed with a touch of procrastination. “Why?” you ask? Well, I’ll tell you. I am working on a screenplay that I hope to submit to an internationally-known screenwriter’s lab. Twice before I have submitted an entry and twice I’ve been “rejected”, so to speak; however, I am not giving up. Besides, “third time’s a […]

As anyone knows who participates in Lent, Ash Wednesday starts the fasting and religious obligations associated with the season of Lent. This year, Lent begins on Wednesday, Feb. 13th, and go until Saturday, March 30th, with Easter Sunday on March 31st. Being from West Texas, I don’t ever recall being familiar with Mardi Gras or “Carnaval”… that is, until I moved to Biloxi, Miss., and was given […]
I Admit It… I Love Working!
My husband has jokingly said (of me) that I “will be the only person in the world to work through her own bereavement leave and work three days past my funeral.” He’s probably going to be correct, because – and I’ll freely admit this – I love working! Right now I’m working as a Medical Assistant for a General Surgeon… no names will be given because (1) I don’t want to be asked for any medical advice (as I’m NOT a doctor nor am I an RN/LPN), and because (2) I don’t want any stalkers (joking… ok, maybe only halfway […]
