Fitness is not only about the physical aspects of actually “working out”, but nowadays, you have to look good while sweating. Athleisure wear is making its way out of the gym and into daily life. Women are wearing leggings and yoga pants for everything from shopping, lunching, and partying with friends, to date night with the boyfriend or a girl’s night out. As much as I love the idea of athleisure wear, I’m looking for comfortable and stylish workout clothes, like the ones at Fabletics. Here’s what I’m wishing for right now… Winn Mid Rise Short Boyshorts Olive Capri Salar Leggings […]
Sunday Inspiration: Find Three Hobbies
Everyone has a hobby or two, or three, or six. I think it’s important to have hobbies, and I think that finding hobbies that you love should also challenge you to better yourself. Finding a hobby that makes you money could be as simple as making jewelry or ceramics or growing your own veggies, and selling your wares at the local farmer’s market. Finding a hobby to keep you in shape could mean joining a gym or a rowing club, or going hiking with friends on the weekends. Or you could challenge your friends to join you for a fun […]
Curly Hair, Don’t Care… But I Do Care!
I love my naturally curly hair, but sometimes I’m not “in love” with my curls! There are days when I want to go “G.I. Jane” and shave it all off. Not only is my hair curly, and sometimes unruly, but it is mousy reddish-brown, thinning (thanks to being in surgical menopause), and graying at the roots. In my sophomore class photo, my hair was orange. My senior year in […]
Wanderlust Wednesday: Travel by Train
Most people cannot afford to travel around the world, flying from one location to another, checking your luggage, handing over your passport, and not to mention, sitting in cramped seats on airlines (hello, we can’t all afford private planes) or getting seasick on a cruise. So why not see the world from a different perspective? By TRAIN! Traveling by train can either be inexpensive or luxurious. If you’re open to not having a set itinerary, then traveling by train may be a great way to see the world, including sites in the USA, Europe, India, or China. So why not […]
My Day Job vs My Passion
I have a day job, and I really enjoy it. I work as a Registered Medical Assistant in a thriving surgical practice and I really love what I do and I love the people with whom I work. I am always in a great mood when I arrive at the office, because I believe that your attitude when you walk through the door will set the tone for the day. Like the quote says, “Doing what you like is freedom. Liking what you do is happiness.” And I believe that because I like what I do gives me the freedom […]
