Insightful Documentary About Timeless Icons

While my husband was working yesterday afternoon, I flipped on the TV and began watching HBO. The feature I watched was a documentary on “supermodels.” It didn’t feature Gisele Bundchen or Miranda Kerr or Cindy Crawford, but it featured such timeless icons as Cheryl Tiegs, Beverly Johnson, and Paulina Porizkova, and many other supermodels of their time. Check out this link to the website on HBO: http://www.hbo.com/documentaries/about-face-the-supermodels-then-and-now/index.html. About Face: The Supermodels, Then and Now is “an uncensored look at many of the biggest names in modeling.” Directed by portrait photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, this film features candid interviews as each woman shares their […]

It’s that time of the month again – Magazine Monday!!

“Yea! Magazines!” That was my reaction when I went to the mailbox and was presented with not one, not two, but four magazines! And considering the fact that I’m getting ready to take a road-trip, I find the timing of these magazines in my mailbox fortuitous! Even though I’ll be able to download these magazines on my iPad, I still get excited about getting the physical magazine. I love the glossy covers, the perfume samples and the smell of the ink on the paper! I’m weird, I know, but I’ll always subscribe/purchase and read magazines the old fashioned way! The […]

Dress Form Outfit #34

I love comfortable clothes. I’ve mentioned this over and over again in my dress form outfit posts, and this week’s outfit is no different. Both the top and skirt are from Forever 21. This gray top has a dark blue tie-dye effect. It’s extremely light and roomy, and it comes down to the hips. I wear this outfit with a pair of flip-flops but you could wear a cute pair of dark blue flats or wedge sandals for date night! The bracelets (seen below) were given to me by my husband. I’ve worn the bracelets separately, and I’ve worn them […]

My Week in Pins

In one of my first posts, I blogged about how awesome Pinterest is and how everyone should check it out. It has everything from recipes to fashion, DIY crafts to inspirational quotes, and home decor to humorous pet photos. I may go a few days between “pinning” things to my Pinterest profile, and then I’ll pin three or four hours everyday for a week straight! My husband will see me using my iPad and ask, “Whatcha doin’?” to which I’ll reply, “Pinning!” So I decided to start a new “category” on my blog and call it “My Week in Pins.” […]

One Season Wonders

There are very few TV shows that hook you in the first episode of the first season. The commercials for a “series premiere” of a new show can peak our interest, helping us decide whether or not we want to watch the first episode. Once we’re hooked, we have got to be willing to invest the time to see how these characters develop and how the storyline evolves. Some shows last five, six, even ten seasons; however, there are some good TV shows that only lasted one season. Here are a few of my favorite “one season wonders.” 1. Freaks […]
