Flowers and Candy and Hearts, Oh My!

Valentine’s Day is a special day for many couples around the world. And as Valentine’s Day approaches, it’s time to start thinking about how to show the special people in your life how much you care. Whether it’s a lively get-together with friends or a cozy night in as a couple, set the mood with bold and colorful decorations.

In this special post from FTD on unique table decor for Valentine’s Day, they highlight several areas, including favors and treats, to consider when planning your celebration of this special day.

Whether you’re planning a special dinner with your loved one for Valentine’s Day, or throwing a party for your lady friends for Galentine’s Day, FTD has some beautiful tablescape ideas.

For a special date night in, adorn the table with classically romantic roses and candles to dress up your table. Or decorate with a small bouquet of florals filled with a mix of bold berry tones and textures to create a seductive, yet delicate centerpieces. For an intimate get-together with your “couple” friends, or to celebrate your lady friends on Galentine’s Day, decorate with centerpieces filled with lush chrysanthemums, seductive dahlias, bountiful peonies and flirty anemones.

To go along with the centerpieces, don’t forget to set the stage with the Valentine’s Day party decor. From heart-shaped floral wall decor and garland for the chairs to hand-stamping hearts on pink and white balloons and spiffing up your party drinks with fun decorations and garnishes, make this party a night your guests won’t soon forget. Once you’ve set the table and decorated it with luscious floral arrangements, place a special personalized gift at each table setting for your guests to take home at the end of the evening.

Once your guests start arriving, charm them with some delicious finger foods {try a plain donuts embellished with buttercream, topped with fresh fruit and edible flowers}. Also, lay out some decadent chocolate {because “nothing says romance more than chocolate”}, heart-shaped fruit skewers, and sweetly bedazzled cookies. Toast the evening with a signature Valentine’s Day champagne cocktail. Muddle each glass of bubbly with strawberries and garnished with a sweet raspberry and a sprig of thyme.

These are all great ideas for Galentine’s Day as well. If you’re not familiar with Galentine’s Day, it is celebrated on February 13th, and it is a day where you leave your husbands and boyfriends at home while you and your lady friends get together for dinner. As Leslie Knope said, it’s a time for “ladies celebrating ladies.” So what do you need to do to put together a Galentine’s Day soiree to celebrate your gal pals? Check out the post I wrote last year about how to have a memorable and fun Galentine’s Day.

Whether you’re spending a romantic evening with that special someone or celebrating with friends, be sure to make it a memorable Valentine’s Day.

Yours Truly,
Vanessa
