I purchased my first pair of white jeans a few months ago and have only worn them a handful of times, but with summer quickly approaching, I am seeing photos in magazines and on my Pinterest feed of how to wear and style my white jeans this summer. Whether it be white jeans, that LWD (little white dress), or an all white outfit, here are some helpful tips, and some “pin-spiration”, on how to wear white this summer.
1. Getting your outfit tailored is important, but it’s super chic when it’s white.
2. White can be boring, so try playing around with some subtle prints or unique textures.
3. Add some drama to your outfit.
4. Go a little country and try some white overalls.
5. Show off your summer tan with an off-the-shoulder shirt {or dress}…
6. Or show off your tanned and toned legs with some shorts {or a mini}.
Here are some other tips for wearing white, from what I consider is my style Bible – InStyle Magazine:
- Make your white skirt a full skirt.
- Layer it on.
- Keep it minimal for evening.
- Show off sheer.
- Wear it tailored.
- Trenchcoats move beyond khaki.
- Add some shine with metallics.
White-on-white outfits are cool and all, but if you’re like me, you’re afraid of spilling something all over your all-white outfit or that they will start to look dingy. Well, then check out this article on “How to Get White Clothes BRIGHT White” from 101 Day of Organization.
White outfits can be a bit… how can I say this?… see-through? So keep that in mind when looking for white outfits. If you’re modest, you may want to invest in some kind of undergarments {like slips} to wear under a dress. If you don’t want VPL {visible panty lines} then you may want to avoid wearing flashy panties. Try wearing nude or flesh-colored thongs. But if you just don’t care who sees what you’re wearing under your white outfit, then just disregard this paragraph and continue on to the inspiration portion of this blog post!
