I love flipping through home decor magazines and catalogs like Restoration Hardware and looking at the wall art. I love seeing how different elements are used to make art.

I like how these paint samples are used. If you don’t want to use all of these different colors, you could chose one particular shade {like shades of blue or brown or reds} and design an ombre piece.

Paint an entire wall with chalkboard paint. You can do this in the kitchen or pantry, or in a kid’s room.

Creating string art on walls takes a lot of creativity. It would definitely add a unique touch to an entryway.

Upholstery makes beautiful wall art, especially if they are large, rectangular panels like the ones below. Again, this would be perfect for an entryway.

Handwritten stories written on the walls makes for a unique room. You could write your favorite poem or story on the wall, or your favorite children’s story {for a baby’s room}.

Wall art doesn’t have to be big or written on the wall, it can accent a staircase.

Or frame a lot of photos and hang in different shapes, like a heart.

Hang wallpaper on part of a wall and then paint the other half with an accent color.

I also like music-inspired wall art. It’s a little busy, but I just love this piece.

As a blogger, I’d have to say that this fashion-inspired wall art has to be one of my favorites. I especially like the Eiffel Tower artwork on the left side of this photo.

Or make a room appear larger with the use of mirrors hung horizontally.

These are just a few of my favorite wall art / home decor designs. I hope that these photos have inspired your inner decorator. Which decorative inspiration is your favorite?

Vanessa
